Mcilroy AS40 .Dermot Mcilroy was the formerly part of Lowden Guitars,working on the production floor as a guitar machinist and finally as production manager.He left Lowden and set up his own company in 2000 in order to produce his own exceptionally high quality acoustic guitars.
This is number 585 of the first Mcilroy AS40 model ever made and it is an absolutely exquisite guitar!
It was completed on the 18th of August 2009 and comes with its own certificate. Each guitar is meticulously hand crafted and the bindings and inlays are selcted for the individual instrument and are different on each guitar.This guitar has a Rosewood,Maple and Pear inlayed into the bindings and the Rosette.
The neck is made of 5 pieces of wood a Maple central core,with Rosewood forming each side of the neck and edged with Mahogany. Just the feel of it in your hands ,the way it's been crafted,the feel of the wood and then the sound that it makes when you play-Superb with a rich lingering sustain!
